The symbiotic relationship between high-quality designs and perfect constructural solutions is very characteristic for furniture designs by Ulrich Weinkath. The designer has especially taken it upon himself to always find a perfect way of constructing. The finished product must be coherent and easy to use as to have the greatest possible utility for the customer.
Everything began with TIUS, the flexible cupboard and shelf system.
Originally focused on high-quality interior designs for customers situated nationally and internationally Ulrich Weinkath received an enquiry about producing a shelving system. he idea was developed by architect and designer Jörn Focken and consisted of creating a shelf with a wavelike, solid base.
By using the most modern machines, applying great dexterity during the implementation and enjoying tricky challenges a furniture system was developed, which is characterized by flexibility, mobility and individuality. The products greatness lies in the eye for detail, variability and expandability.
After TIUS Ulrich Weinkath started designing products, which also strongly focus on an optimal detailed constructional solution and of course, the design. Examples for these techniques are the tool-free tables ALTO and the matching BASSO benches. Both are easy to assemble and just as easy to dismantle. The space-saving designs makes them easy to store and the products maintain the same stability as they had at purchase.
His fine sense for various forms and designs greatly extends beyond the topic of wood. This is made visible through the elegant TORRETTA doorstops. These are delivered as floor and wall doorstoppers in various metal versions and can be fixated easily through a simple assembly. MONTE, a brochure rack made of a perpendicular glass element and a horizontal metal shelf is completely functional in the day-to-day use without any further tools. The perfect solution needed is the load-carrying plug-in approach.
